About CISV

CISV educates and inspires action for a more just and peaceful world.

Since 1951, CISV has been offering a range of local activities, international camps, family-hosted exchanges and community-based projects. These are known as its programmes and every year its volunteers organize them for young people and adults in over 200 cities in over 60 counties.

CISV uses peace education to get there.

Peace Education provides us with the attitudes, skills and knowledge we need to become agents of change, both locally and globally. In other words, to become active global citizens. It looks at local and global issues that are relevant to all countries, recognizing that peace means much more than the absence of war. In fact, peace education encourages us to think about a wide range of issues and helps us gain a better understanding of issues relating to diversity, human rights, conflict and resolution and sustainable development.

CISV has a range of programmes beyond Mosaic.

CISV Chapters around the world host a range of programmes for different age groups. The organization tries to ensure that quality and general content are similar, no matter where the activity takes place. CISV also endeavours to keep participation fees as low as possible. There are opportunities to learn at the local, regional and international level. Participation begins at local CISV Chapter level, where members have the opportunity to apply for international experiences.
